# 07d | Mirror Quilt Blocks

## <mark style="color:blue;">Module 07d | How to Mirror Quilt Blocks in a Quilt</mark>

Sometimes you'll want to mirror a block to create some symmetry or another design element. In this sub-module, you'll learn how to easily mirror a block (horizontally or vertically).

Please note that when you mirror a block, you are often manifesting a unique block that has not been created as a block. This is important to remember when you go to make your quilt that some blocks might have a regular and mirrored version.

Mirrored blocks will be noted in your quilt information download and denoted with an asterisk.

**NOTE:** The blocks in the images below are different than those in the video. This is because, I mistakenly used a block that looks the same when its mirrored and rotated. I'll update the video at a later date.

### a | Mirror Horizontally

To HORIZONTALLY mirror a quilt block:

1. Select the <mark style="color:blue;">**block cells in your quilt**</mark> that you want to mirror. In the video, I selected a column of block cells.

   <div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/TVPt0CitIEM1QXwWJ9Vw" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
2. Click on the <mark style="color:blue;">**ROTATE/MIRROR tab**</mark> on the left side control panel.

   <div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/jtytf3JhnzmnPsIyM5qs" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
3. It will expand. Then click on the <mark style="color:blue;">**Left/Right button**</mark> in the **Mirror** section.

   <div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/oDq9TNtFWvuRkcSQCmr0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

To VERTICALLY mirror a quilt block:
