05b | HELP! Blocks Keep Changing

In this sub-module, I'll explain a commonly occurring mistake that often leads to frustration. If you find that both your original and cloned blocks keep changing together and remain identical, this sub-module will be helpful for fixing it!
TIP: Do NOT change the fabric being used by a Fabric Link. Instead, LINK a new Fabric Link.
After cloning an original block, the most common instinct is to edit the Fabric Link's fabric, for example Fabric Link A. In this example, Fabric Link A has changed from Kona Sprout to Kona Hyacinth.
But since, both blocks have pieces that are linked to Fabric Link A, they will both change (and remain identical).
The way to create a unique block from a cloned original is to link a different Fabric Link to your block pieces.
Click on the Edit Block button for the newly cloned block 'Sawtooth Star (2)'
The Block Editor panel will slide out. To create a new, unique quilt block, you will need to make a fundamental change to the cloned block so that it is no longer identical to its original.
In this example, I'm changing all the background block pieces from Fabric Link A to Fabric Link C.
Click on any background piece of the block, right click on the mouse and then select the SELECT ALL option from the dropdown menu.
You will now see that the background for our new Sawtooth Star is now Kona Bright Pink.
Click on the Save to Quilt button in the upper right corner of the Block Editor.
You will now see our new and unique block variation of the Sawtooth Star.
Click on the Link button () for the fabric link (Fabric Link C) you'd like to use for these block pieces.
