# Blocks Dashboard

## <mark style="color:blue;">Blocks Dashboard</mark>

The **Block Dashboard** is the home of all your quilt blocks - [*custom blocks*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/cs#custom-quilt-block), imported blocks from the PreQuilt [*Block Library*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/bs#block-library) and any [*AddOn Collaborator block libraries*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/as#addon-feature-or-block-library) that you have purchased.&#x20;

From the main Block Dashboard, you can:

### <mark style="color:blue;">a | Create a New Block</mark>

There are two different starting points for creating a [*custom block*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/cs#custom-quilt-block) - from the Block Dashboard or while designing a quilt. When you create a new block from the Block Dashboard, it is saved in your [*Block Stash*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/bs#block-stash) and can be used in any quilt.

It's important to note that the [*color tags*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/cs#color-tags) that you use in a block saved on the Block Dashboard will be overwritten by the color tags set in the quilt when you import it into a quilt. To ensure the color tags on your block stay the same, change the color tags on your quilt to match those used in the quilt block.

There are two different libraries from which you can import quilt blocks. Importing a quilt block will save a copy of it in your [*Block Stash*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/bs#block-stash). You can import blocks from:

#### <mark style="color:blue;">01 |</mark> [*PreQuilt Block Library*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/bs#block-library)

* Free, open source quilt blocks that have been created in PreQuilt
* Good resource for common traditional quilt blocks
* Grab and go block resource

#### <mark style="color:blue;">02 |</mark> [*AddOn Collaborator Block Libraries*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/as#addon-feature-or-library)

* Paid block libraries that coordinate with a specific collaborator's quilt pattern
* One time payment will unlock the block library & accompanying quilt layouts

### <mark style="color:blue;">c | Organize Blocks</mark>

Your quilt blocks can also be organized into folders. You can create new folders by clicking on the Add a Folder button (<img src="/files/bLOWhBAXqmD24YGMBDRY" alt="" data-size="line">). Drag and drop quilt block tiles into folders to move them.

### <mark style="color:blue;">d | Edit Blocks</mark>

You can also edit a quilt block from the dashboard by clicking on the <mark style="color:blue;">**Edit Block**</mark> button located underneath the quilt block on its tile. Other editing options are changing the block name, [*cloning*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/cs#clone) the block, and deleting it from the [*Block Stash*](https://glossary.prequilt.com/pq-glossary/bs#block-stash).
