In this sub-module, you'll learn how to add binding using a printed fabric swatch to your quilt.
Hot Tip: You can now use striped fabric in your binding! We've developed PreQuilt to wrap the binding around the quilt the same way you'd sew it on in real life, so you can get striped binding all pointing in towards the quilt.
The first step is to add binding to our quilt.
Click on the BINDING/BORDER tab on the left side control panel.
Enter the width of your binding.
Select the fabric link that you'd like to use as the binding from the dropdown menu. In this example, I'll want to use C.
You will now see your quilt with binding, but it's still using a solid fabric.
TIP: Make sure that you've already loaded your digital fabric swatch for the fabric you'd like to use for your binding.
Now that you have your binding in place, we can now change the fabric to the printed fabric of our choosing.
Click on the FABRIC LINKS tab on the left side control panel.
Click on the Edit button for Fabric Link C (which is the fabric link we're using for our binding).
The Fabric Link panel will slide out. Click on the PRINTS tab.
Click on the Select button for the printed fabric swatch you would like to use as your binding fabric.
You will now see that our binding has been updated and is using our selected printed fabric swatch.
To rotate the direction of your binding fabric:
Hover over any side of your binding. Click on the Rotate button that will appear.
You will now see that the binding fabric has been rotated.
Click on the x button () on the Fabric Link panel to close it.
