   <figure><img src="https://2632437258-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZIxhpDEaPtVb8DXlSENh%2Fuploads%2FKd9FRtBCxM9YcQwcpjgU%2FScreen%20Shot%202024-05-31%20at%203.50.31%20PM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=26e140c4-093f-40ff-a57c-4413257b722a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
3. Enter the <mark style="color:blue;">**number for the height**</mark> you'd like the top border to be in the <mark style="color:blue;">**Resize Row**</mark> box and then press the <mark style="color:blue;">**OK button**</mark>.

   <div align="left"><figure><img src="https://2632437258-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZIxhpDEaPtVb8DXlSENh%2Fuploads%2FEcXkFtXXOhz4JjbHMbvX%2FScreen%20Shot%202024-05-31%20at%203.50.40%20PM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=1f72579b-b7b0-4f8e-87ca-aa0786a44dff" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
4. Repeat <mark style="color:blue;">**steps 1-3**</mark> for the bottom border.
5. You will now see a row of blocks that are the same pattern and width as the other rows in your quilt. The. only difference is that this row is not the same height as the other rows. It is 4" high.

6. <mark style="color:blue;">**Select all the block cells in row 1**</mark> and then click on the <mark style="color:blue;">**Merge button**</mark> (![](https://2632437258-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZIxhpDEaPtVb8DXlSENh%2Fuploads%2FDezy5TrtqNqV0Ja74N1F%2FScreen%20Shot%202024-05-31%20at%202.10.15%20PM.png?alt=media\&token=3eb7158e-0872-4e6a-b1be-f64eaefbce97)) on the central vertical control panel to make one long border piece.

   <figure><img src="https://2632437258-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZIxhpDEaPtVb8DXlSENh%2Fuploads%2FLsra3z9GATMIU5d4x4Tb%2FScreen%20Shot%202024-05-31%20at%203.51.42%20PM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=90816769-a7e0-4097-8245-f1cefae47962" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
7. Click on the border block cell and add the One Patch Block of your choice. In this example, I used the same Fabric Link as the background fabric.

8. Repeat <mark style="color:blue;">**steps 6-7**</mark> for the bottom border.
9. You will now see a solid border at the top and bottom of the quilt. But not on the sides.

### Add Border to Left or Right of Quilt

It's the same process to add a border to just the left or right side of the quilt as it is to add a border to just the top or bottom of a quilt. Keep in mind you'll be adding extra columns instead of extra rows.
